I tried to do it myself, i guess it didn’t work.

Here it is, the long overdue-d self initiated project.

Brief:

Design a new book cover for the book “The Graveyard Book” by Neil Gaiman. As the book already has different covers for children and adults, this new design is targeted at the adults only. Which means it doesnt have to be too “safe” or “kiddy” for children.

Anything goes, as long as it brings out the overall mood of the book.

Deadline:

14th Aug 09

Note to self:

i wanna explore my typographic limits with this work, see how far or creative i can go as far as typography is concerned. finished reading the book and have to say i totally love it. easy to read (duh! its meant for kids afterall) and its the 1st time i didnt wanna put down a book after picking it up. love it, love it, l.o.v.e.i.t.

Took me 23 years to realise that its good to read actively.

Hope its not too late.

The pillion always gets hit the hardest. I’ve experienced it 1st hand and man, it really is not fun.

Luckily it wasnt very serious injury but it did cause extreme discomfort and inconvenience. The noob driver who knocked us down was, thank God, kind enough to compensate us (med bills n all, thou its not compensated yet as of now) and i think if he were a more seasoned driver, the attitude would be different. 

Anyways, i’d figure life really is fragile, yes, my injury is not really life threatening but it did wake me up. Like hey, start living for yourself and stop wasting precious time doing nothing.

Ouh and, retail therapy rocks, so does Project Runway. We should be given like a 1 day deadline for our school projects, maybe we’d be able to produce amazing stuffs like the contestants. ^-^

May i remain as childish childlike as ever and that wish i wish every year come true this year.

one thing i learnt this semester, is that there will ALWAYS be someone who under-appreciates your work because:

1) he don’t care

2) he didn’t see/feel the effort that was put in

3) he just plain suck

words cannot even begin to express how pissed i was.

but im glad he did what he did else i wouldn’t have learnt.

the monopoly game just now, was probably the most happening thing that’s gonna happen to me this cny.
